Dubai’s New Parking Tariffs: Your Complete 2025 Guide for Smart Parking

If you drive around Dubai, whether you’re a daily commuter, a weekend explorer, or just renting wheels for the week, there’s a fresh set of Dubai parking tariffs that you’ll want on your radar.

As of April 22, 2025, Parkin PJSC introduced new parking tariffs for several zones across the city, including Karama and Al Qusais.

This guide breaks down the updates, what they mean for you, and how to save time (and dirhams) when parking in Dubai.

What’s New with Parking Tariffs in Karama, Al Qusais & Nearby Areas?

Wait, What About the Rest of Dubai?

If you just asked what about the rest of Dubai? Well, earlier this year, April 4, 2025, to be exact, Dubai also rolled out a broader update to its public parking system.

Here’s a quick snapshot:

Variable Parking Tariffs

  • Premium public parking (zones marked with ‘P’ like AP, BP, CP, DP) now costs Dh6/hour during peak times (8am–10am and 4pm–8pm).
  • These charges do not apply on weekends or public holidays.

How Premium Zones Are Chosen:

Premium zones are areas which are:

  • Close to metro stations (within 500m)
  • High parking demand during peak hours
  • Busy markets or commercial districts

What Experts Say

Dubai’s parking system is evolving to better manage congestion in high-traffic areas. According to the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), these changes aim to optimize parking availability and ensure smoother traffic flow during peak hours.

By adjusting tariffs in high-demand areas, Dubai hopes to create a more efficient parking environment while promoting the use of public transport in crowded areas.

Want a Parking Subscription? Here’s How It Works

If you live or work in Dubai (or just park a lot), a Parking subscription could be worth it. Two types are available depending on your parking needs:

  • You can link up to 3 vehicles per subscription (Dubai traffic file only)—but only one active at a time.
  • Switch between vehicles every 30 minutes if needed.
  • Non-Dubai traffic file? Only one vehicle is allowed.
  • Registered a company car? Same rule—just one vehicle.
  • Subscription fees are non-refundable.
  • You can’t downgrade from a combo (roadside + plots) to just plots.
  • Dh100 fee to change vehicle details mid-subscription.

What Does This Mean for You?

Whether you’re a local commuter, an expat, or a tourist in Dubai, understanding these changes can help you save money and plan your parking accordingly. Here’s how you can benefit:

For Locals:

  • Adjust your routine by considering off-peak hours to park at lower rates.
  • Consider a subscription if you park regularly in Dubai. It could save you on daily parking fees.

For Expats:

If you’re living in Dubai long-term, the roadside & plots subscription could be a good deal for flexibility in parking. You can switch between vehicles if needed.

For Tourists:

Be mindful of peak hour rates if you plan to park near tourist attractions like malls or markets. It might be more affordable to park in less congested areas during non-peak hours.

Final Tip: Always Check the Signage

Parking Tariffs boards are updated in real-time, so don’t rely solely on memory. Make sure you check the zone code and current rate signage when you park, especially in high-traffic, multi-zone neighborhoods like Deira, Bur Dubai, or Business Bay.
